Born to Sparkle

Adding a sparkle layer to dresses is usually a job that will be done at the factory, as it is more cost-effective because it is such a time-consuming job. However, if a wedding is coming up soon then a sparkle layer will need to be done in-house so I was lucky enough to be taught the process.

Creating this sparkle layer was exciting and challenging, especially because I had to create my own pattern which is different for every dress due to measurements. This layer does not get hemmed or overclocked meaning it must be cut with precision and have no crocodile teeth. Once the layer is sewn in it must then be chain stitched to connect all the seams of each skirt layer together - giving it a professional finish.
